Elementary School Teacher of the Year:  Kim LaSata
Congratulations to the Lake Michigan Catholic Elementary School Teacher of the Year,
Mrs. Kim LaSata.  Mrs. LaSata has taught at LMC since 2007, and is currently teaching
fifth grade.  Last summer Kim was asked to represent LMC Elementary on a diocesan
level professional development undertaking called Understanding by Design.  She spent
part of her summer reading and attending trainings and finished up her training in the
fall with additional meetings.  She led a diocesan team in training the staff here at the
elementary and has been available to teachers throughout the year to answer questions
and keep us moving forward in the process.  She took on this role of teacher/training
joyfully and has been instrumental in its success.
