During the 2010-11 school year, the Young Rembrandts met on Thursdays after school.  Elementary students were taught fundamental art techniques by Laker parent and professional artist Mrs. Karen Garavalia.  The Young Rembrandts curriculum is all-encompassing, with exposure to different artists and their works, color theory, and composition while also taking the students’ developing fine motor skills into consideration.  Students attending each weekly lesson produce art that reflects the instructed concept, and builds a skill set for greater creativity and ease of expression.
