 Letter from the CCEC President

The Catholic Community Education Commission is an advisory body that works with, and for, the pastors and the Executive Director of Lake Michigan Catholic Schools.

As a group, the CCEC represents the stakeholders of our school system.  We listen to ideas and policies that are put forth by the administrators of the school.  We have been put in place to act as a "sounding board", to give advice, or approval, on issues as they may arise concerning the operations of the school.  A sampling of issues that we provide input for are budget review and approval, long range planning, administrator evaluations and promotion of our school, to name but a few.

The CCEC is comprised of nine members.  Sts. John & Bernard and St. Joseph parish appoint a total of seven representatives.  Sacred Heart of Mary parish in Dowagiac and St. Joseph parish in Watervliet each have one representative on the commission.  All members are appointed by their pastor or parish administrator to serve a three year term that is renewable one time.

The CCEC will hold open meetings this school year on the following dates:  September 24th, November 19th, January 28th, March 25th, and May 27th.  Please check the school website for time and location of each meeting.  All are welcome to attend.
