Congratulations to Lake Michigan Catholic Preschool teachers Mrs. Peggy Hanley, Mrs. Barb Grundy, and Mrs. Karin Fields, who were among the winners of the 2010 Diocese of Kalamazoo's St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Professional Development Awards!

The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Professional Development Award is a newly created awards program in the Diocese that recognizes distinguished educators and provides a monetary grant to help further their professional development.  LMC's winners were honored at an awards dinner with the Bishop on April 13th with the other diocesan recipients.  There were 3 individual awards given, 4 multi-educator awards, and 2 multi-system awards.  The Laker Preschool teachers received one of the 4 multi-educator awards.

Mrs. Hanley, Mrs. Grundy and Mrs. Fields were awarded $1000 to attend a workshop on how to teach a program called "Handwriting Without Tears", where they will learn how to teach beginning handwriting and letter formation.
